Sept. 27, 2013 - On Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, the south boat ramp at Antero Reservoir will close for the remainder of the 2013 boating season because of decreased boating use and Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s annual spawning operation. The reservoir’s north boat ramp will remain open through Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, when trailered boating will end for the season.
"By closing the south boat ramp, Colorado Parks and Wildlife will be able to safely access the reservoir to conduct their work," said Neil Sperandeo, manager of recreation for Denver Water.
The 38 campsites and parking lot on the south side of the reservoir will remain open. The north side of Antero Reservoir is open for day use only, and no camping is allowed.
The north boat ramp is open seven days a week from a half-hour before sunrise to a half-hour after sunset. All boats must be inspected for aquatic nuisance species before entering the water. Inspections stations at the boat ramp are provided by Colorado Parks and Wildlife, in cooperation with Denver Water.
