HASTY, Colo. – John Martin Reservoir State Park will be waiving park entrance fees in conjunction with the 6th Annual Hasty Daze on Saturday, Sept. 21.

The park will be open to visitors from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. for day use only. Visitors will be allowed free entrance into the park to enjoy the lake, hiking trails, and evening fireworks show!

"This is an excellent opportunity for Colorado Parks and Wildlife to get behind our local community and we are very excited to take part," said Dan Kirmer, park manager at John Martin State Reservoir for Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

Fireworks are set to start at 9:30 p.m. from the dam, and whether you are down by the lake or atop the Point Overlook there are several great locations to watch from. Vehicles must park in designated areas only. Boating and fishing will also be available, with the proper licenses and registration. Campsites are available in the Lake Hasty Camp Ground and will require the purchase of a camping permit.

Only alcohol 3.2 percent by volume or lower is permitted in public in the state of Colorado. Be smart, safe, and sober if you are at the wheel of a car or the helm of a boat.

We invite you to come and enjoy Colorado Parks and Wildlife with us and our Southeast Colorado community!
