Trinidad Lake State Park Hosts Boating Safety Program for Teens

TRINIDAD, Colo. – Trinidad Lake State Park will host a boating safety review session and exam for teenagers who want to operate motorboats or personal watercraft this boating season. The boating safety course will be held on Saturday, May 16 at 1 p.m. at the park’s visitor center.
Anyone operating a motorboat or personal watercraft in Colorado must be at least 16 years old. However, 14 to 15 year olds who successfully complete this state-approved boating safety course can operate a motorboat in Colorado.
Adults are welcome and encouraged to attend as well. To attend the class, call (303) 791-1954 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to register and request study manuals. Please include your name, address, date of birth, phone number and the number of manuals you need. Each individual will need their own manual.
Boat operator cards will be issued to students who attend the review session and pass the exam. The certification fee is $15 per student and the student must bring a 1-by-1 inch photo, which will be laminated onto their operator card.
