CPW press release
LAKE GEORGE, CO. – The boat ramps at Eleven Mile Reservoir and Spinney Mountain Reservoir will close for the season at the end of the day on Oct. 31. They will re-open in the spring following ice-off.

Only fin-powered personal pontoon boats or fin-powered belly boats will be allowed on the reservoirs after Oct. 31. Canoes, kayaks, motorboats and any other vessel powered by motors, oars or sails will not be permitted on either reservoir for the remainder of the year beginning Nov. 1.

Spinney Mountain State Park will remain open for shore fishing, picnicking, waterfowl hunting, and other day-use activities until the reservoir freezes over, which usually occurs in late November. Once the reservoir freezes over, the park will close for the season.

Eleven Mile State Park will remain open for shore fishing, ice fishing, camping, hiking, hunting and other activities throughout the winter. The park offers nearly 200 non-electric sites and 10 electric sites in nine different campgrounds throughout the winter.

Camp sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Trout fishing has been very good this fall. Ice fishing typically starts in earnest in late December, offering fishermen the chance to catch northern pike, kokanee salmon and a various species of trout.

For current conditions, please visit the “Conditions Report” on the respective Eleven Mile or Spinney Mountain web pages at www.cpw.state.co.us or call the park office at 719-748-3401.
