Sweitzer Lake day-use area construction project to start May 14
The day use area on the south side of Sweitzer Lake State Park ( [log in for link] ) will be under construction beginning May 14. The project is scheduled to last roughly 90 days.
The area will be closed to the public during construction. Plans are in place to upgrade shelters, build new bathrooms and to improve landscaping.
"We are bringing this area of the park up to modern standards," said Park Manager Scott Rist. "Once completed, this will be a big upgrade our visitors will really enjoy."
The main recreational area of the park will be open during construction, and the boat ramp is open for the season.
Sweitzer Lake State Park features a 137-surface acre reservoir for day-use recreation, and the park is an excellent location for bird observation.
