CPW's Salida East siteon Arkansas River to close temporarily in April

Colorado Parks and Wildlife
The Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area (AHRA) will temporarily close its Salida East Recreation Site for nine days in April for construction work.

The 19-acre Salida East site features a boat ramp, vault toilets and change facility as well as 29 basic campsites, 4 walk-in sites and 1 yurt located on the south banks of the Arkansas River about three miles east of Salida along U.S. Highway 50.

The AHRA will close Salida East to all access April 15-24 to allow crews to install a cement apron at the entrance/exit of the recreation site to improve traffic safety for guests.

Salida East is one of 17 recreation sites Colorado Parks and Wildlife manages under a lease with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management's Royal Gorge Field Office in Canon City.
