Colorado Parks and Wildlife will be ending the emergency public fish salvage at Johnstown Reservoir on Nov. 1.
The fish salvage was enacted back on Oct. 6 to maximize use of the fishery resource prior to the reservoir being drained for planned work on the reservoir dam.
It is anticipated that the reservoir will open for fishing and other allowed recreation in the summer of 2022.
A schedule for restocking the reservoir will be determined once it is back full with water. At the time it reopens, anglers will be expected to revert to fishing under the normal regulations.
In past years, Johnstown Reservoir has been stocked with trout as well as warm water species including largemouth and smallmouth bass, bluegill, common carp, channel catfish, black and white crappie and walleye.
