DENVER, Colo. – Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is calling on hunters, anglers, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who is interested in wildlife management to attend a Northeast Region Sportsmen’s Caucus, scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, in Denver.
The caucus will convene in CPW’s Northeast Region Hunter Education Building located at 6060 Broadway in Denver.
An important agenda item for this meeting will be the election of two caucus member positions. Northeast Region delegates will attend the annual Statewide Sportsmen’s Roundtable and communicate messages from Northeast Region sportsmen. The next statewide Sportsmen’s Roundtable will be held August 11.
Other agenda items at the August 1 caucus meeting will include:
Future Generations Act implementation
Application process update
Chronic Wasting Disease update
Update on the Habitat Stamp request for proposal process
Five-year season structure
Hunting and fishing access discussion
“I look forward to seeing everyone, having a productive discussion and answering questions from our sportsmen and women,” said CPW Northeast Regional Manager Mark Leslie.
The caucuses are a great opportunity for direct communication with CPW about issues affecting hunters, anglers, trappers and all outdoors enthusiasts in the region. Sportsmen and women are invited to comment on CPW policies, regulations and resource management decisions. The meetings also give the agency a chance to fully discuss and explain decisions and natural resource management with the public.
