Colorado Parks looking to extend Lonetree Reservoir lease

The lease for Lonetree Reservoir as a state wildlife area expires in June, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the ditch company that owns the reservoir are working on a new lease.
What that looks like in the long term, however, is unknown at this point.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife has leased the land around Lonetree Reservoir and the body of water itself for recreation as a state wildlife area for decades, at least back to the 1970s. The reservoir, south of Loveland, is a popular fishing and wildlife viewing spot.
