Upcoming NE Region Ice Fishing Clinics
DENVER—The snow and cold have finally arrived on the Front Range and the ice fishing is hot! Come learn the basics with the Colorado Parks and Wildlife experts at three clinic opportunities throughout the region.
January 28: St. Vrain State Park (Firestone)
Beginners Ice Fishing Clinic at St. Vrain State Park Join Colorado Parks and Wildlife on Saturday, Jan. 28, 9 a.m. to noon, at Sandpiper Pond for an ice fishing clinic. Rods, jigs, bait, augers, and all the gear you need will be provided. Learn about places to ice fish, ice safety, and more!
All participants 16 years or older must have a valid fishing license (and consider purchasing a 2nd rod stamp so you can fish with 2 poles!). Each vehicle must have a valid Colorado State Park Pass.

As ice conditions may change rapidly on the Front Range, staff will be monitoring the ice conditions and reserve the right to cancel should conditions become unsafe. Limit: 20 people.

February 3-4: Fort Collins area
Ice Fishing Seminar and Clinic Friday Feb. 3, and Saturday, Feb. 4. Attendees will meet in room 231 at the Wagar Building on the Colorado State University campus at 6-9 p.m. on Friday, February 3. Colorado Parks and Wildlife will provide a short presentation on biology, laws, equipment, etc., with time for questions as well. This part of the class is mandatory to be able to fish the next day.
On Saturday, Feb. 4, the group will go out and do some fishing. Location to be determined depending on ice conditions and will be announced at seminar. Colorado Parks and Wildlife will be providing all fishing gear, but if you have your own, you are more than welcome to bring it along—transportation is not provided. Anyone 16 years or older is required to have a fishing license. Attendees can get a one day license or an annual license from any license agent, but it needs to be purchased before the 4th.

February 11: ElevenMile State Park (Lake George)
This ice fishing clinic will take place Saturday, Feb. 11 from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is for all ages and anglers with very little to no experience ice fishing. Participants will learn about ice fishing equipment, techniques, and safety. All fishing equipment will be provided. The event is free and limited to the first 30 people who sign up. Please arrive at the marina shortly before 7:30 a.m. so that we can begin fishing promptly after the instruction portion of the class.
Please bring a small camping chair, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, snacks, and a cooler with ice in case you want to take fish you catch home. Be sure to dress in layers to stay warm out on the ice. Participants will not be required to purchase a Colorado Park Pass, so carpooling is encouraged.
NOTE: All participants 16 years or older MUST have a valid Colorado fishing license to participate. A second rod stamp is required if you wish to fish with two rods.
