Colorado State Parks’ Volunteer a Finalist in National Contest for Parks’ Videos

The finalists, all amateurs, were selected by a panel of judges based on creative elements, such as cinematography, editing, soundtrack and the use of special effects. The judges also made their selection based on technical elements, including film concept, originality and coherence. The prizes include a Sony VAIO Notebook computer.
de Groen, a working mother with one daughter, spends her spare time as a volunteer at Colorado State Parks, filming videos.
"The Colorado State Parks have been a great retreat for me, during the week after work, and on weekends. The state parks offer a nice ‘day-cation’ close to home, said de Groen. "The rangers and volunteers at the parks do such a good job educating children and adults about nature and safety through programs, brochures and the State Parks website
