Boyd Lake State Park Will Change Boat Inspection Hours

LOVELAND, Colo. – Boyd Lake State Park will change the hours for aquatic nuisance species (ANS) inspections hours to the fall schedule beginning Oct. 1. The main boat ramp and the Heron Cove Ramp will close for the season at 7 p.m. on Nov. 31 or when the lake freezes, whichever is sooner.
Until Oct. 1, the inspection station will continue to be staffed everyday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Beginning Oct. 1, the ANS inspection station will be staffed Friday through Sunday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
If boats wish to launch outside of the inspection hours they must be pre-inspected for ANS prior to launching. Boaters are encouraged to obtain a seal with the receipt when leaving in order to launch when inspectors are unavailable. Boats that launch without inspections are subject to a minimum fine of $50. To protect Colorado’s water, boaters leaving a lake or other waterway should:
§ CLEAN all mud, plants or animals from the hull of your boat.
§ DRAIN all of the water from the boat, live well and lower unit of the engine.
§ DRY the boat and contents before the next launch.
