NEW SWA DEDICATED IN SOUTH PARK SEPT. 17

DENVER Colorado Parks and Wildlife will dedicate the Cline Ranch State Wildlife Area in South Park on Saturday, Sept. 17th at 10 a.m. in Como.

This new state wildlife area consists of 1,635 acres of fish and wildlife habitat that will now be available for public fishing, hunting, and recreational access. This property was purchased through a collaborative effort involving Park County, the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife (CPW) and Great Outdoors Colorado. The Cline Ranch State Wildlife Area is owned by Park County and managed in agreement with Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

"Park County is a jewel in the crown of Colorado's natural resources," said Reid Dewalt, Area Manager for South Park, "This area provides some of the finest hunting and angling in the state and the Cline Ranch will help secure additional access for generations to come."

Purchased to provide angling access to 2.5 miles of upper Tarryall Creek, the Cline Ranch State Wildlife Area was also purchased to provide hunting access for small game, big game, and waterfowl. The regulations placed on the property are intended to protect the current habitat condition, allow equitable and controlled access, and to provide a safe and enjoyable recreational opportunity for a variety of user groups. The location of the property allows users to have a unique experience accessing a high quality habitat that is fairly remote and pristine in nature.

The property is located on US Highway 285, about one quarter mile northeast of the community of Como, about 9 miles northeast of the Town of Fairplay, and about 60 miles southwest of Denver.
