Bill “Anteroman” Hadley
Currently 80 years young (2024) started fishing at age 5 with the obligatory Mitchell 300 in Northern NJ.
Moved to Virginia in 1970 then to Florida in 1978.
Ran a 46’ Bertram as a charter operation from 1987 to 1993, fishing the Palm Beach area, the Bahamas as well as Central and South America. Started fishing Costa Rica's Pacific coast in 1987 and still fish there once or twice a year.
Spent most of my time on salt water until 2004 when I started fishing COLORADO. Bought a vacation home in Colorado in 2005 in Jefferson then moved to Hartsel six months later. I fished primarily rivers the first couple years, the Arkansas and Frying Pan.
Started fishing the South Park lakes late 2007 and have been captive there for many years.
Primarily a trout fisherman and I prefer the long rod but still love the crushing bites with the Rocket Launcher AKA spinning rod.
Normally fish between 40-60 trips per season. Slowest year in South Park was 2018 with a bit over 800 releases and my best season was 2009 with just over 1800, concentrated that year on Antero Reservoir, my favorite of the three lakes but really enjoying the BIG fish at Spinney Mountain the last couple years.
I’ve been very disappointed the last two seasons at all three South Park Lakes and this disappointment has been reinforced with my regular fishing partners as well as several very knowledgeable guides that we fish with regularly. Hoping things turn around in 2025 and get back to our outstanding catches of the past 19 years?
If you see me on the lakes say hello and we’ll share some stories, lies and flies!
