Hi, my name is Mike and I am a carpoholic. My obsession with fishing began in diapers with a cane pole and a bucket of crickets catching brim off a dock. Growing up in Louisiana, I would fish for anything that swam. We would spend the weekends fishing in bass tournaments on Toledo Bend. I moved to Aspen in 1988 and immediately learned how to fly fish. I guided on the Fryingpan and Roaring Fork rivers. I did 3 day rafting/fly fishing trips down the Gunnison River in the Black Canyon. My current obsession is salt water. Bonefish, permit, snook and especially tarpon take me to some very special places around the world. Looking to practice my saltwater skills in Colorado, I was turned onto carp and have become addicted to the complexity of catching these intriguing fish. Once again, fishing for carp and pike is now taking me to some very cool places around the state and beyond. I owe to Fish Explorer for providing an invaluable resource for information. I hope to provide additional knowledge to this site.
