Located in Pike National Forest in the Pikes Peak Ranger District. Stocked with a variety of trout. From USFS: The trail to Nichols Reservoir begins at the Dikeside Boatramp parking lot. It is a 0.8 mile hike down to Nichols Reservoir and back up. Swimming, wading, and all body contact with the water in the reservoir is prohibited. From USFS:
From Colorado Springs, Colorado, travel west on Hwy 24 for about 18 miles to Woodland Park. Turn north on Baldwin (which turns into Rampart Range Road). Go about 2 miles to Loy Creek Road turn right and then to FDR 300 turn right (Rampart Range Road). Follow signs. Rampart Reservoir entrance is about 4 miles further on the left side of the road.
