General Details:

Small lake located in San Isabel National Forest.
From USFS: Chalk Lake is routinely stocked with rainbow trout from the nearby Chalk Cliffs fish hatchery. This is a great lake for families with kids of all ages. The shoreline is level and easy to walk around.

Getting there:

From Buena Vista travel south for 7 miles on 285 to County Road 162 then travel west past the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs resort for 8 miles. The lake is located .10 miles past the entrance to the campground. Ample parking is available for small RVs and passenger vehicles.
