Getting there:

Turn right onto 257 and proceed west 1.6 miles. Turn left onto the 4WD road which may be labelled as FS 256 or 257.1B. The road entrance is not easy to see from the main road so look closely when odometer reaches 1.4 miles. Travel 0.8 miles past Silver Lake to Forty Acre Lake. The road to to the lake is rutted, rough and frequently muddy. One can also park on FS 257 and walk the road or bushwhack to the lake.
