Originally mining pits, these gravel ponds were purchased by the city of Loveland and are stocked by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. A 2012 CPW survey found excellent and sustainable fish populations in each pond.
The 155 acre River's Edge Natural Area was planned to open in September 2013, but delayed due to flooding. It is now open with five ponds, available for fishing including Bass, D... Log infor additional details...
Getting there:
From Fort Collins, take Shields St south (which becomes Taft Ave in Loveland) to 1st St (CR 20), turn east, and park at Centennial Park.
From I-25 or Loveland, take Eisenhower (34) to Taft Ave, turn south on Taft, then turn east at 1st St and park at Centennial Park.
From Longmont, take 287 north, turn west on 1st St, and park at Centennial Park.
