Riverbend Ponds, one of Fort Collins natural areas, is 226 acres of land with seven ponds and a nice stretch of the Poudre River. Popular with birders, over 200 birds species have been identified using the area. Visitors can expects to see herons, pelicans, ducks, geese, cormorants, and many others. Additionally there are over three miles to enjoy.
From I-25 heading North or South, take the Prospect exit East towards Fort Collins. Drive just under 2 miles and turn North into the Southern end of Riverbend Natural Area. The access the Northern end, continue on Prospect to Timberline Rd.. Take Timberline North, over the bridge and turn right onto Cairnes Dr., turn right again into the parking area of Riverbend Natural Area.
