Taylor Park Reservoir offers fine fishing for rainbows, browns, cutthroats, lakers, kokanee and northern pike. Fishing can be good from shore with easiest access along the eastern and southern shores. Wading along the southeast corner near the inlet can provide action for both trout and pike. Getting there:
The reservoir is located about 35 miles northeast of Gunnison, Colorado. The first 11 miles from Gunnison to Almont are paved Colorado Highway 135. From Almont, take FR 742 north to the reservoir. During the summer, you can take CottonWood pass Road from Buena Vista. This road is dirt on the pass and difficult to navigate with a trailer.
