Define private? Like you can pay to go fish? Or you are on a stealth night mission?

I’ve had a friend do both.

Honestly there aren’t very many “pay lakes” in the metro and there are only a few where you have to know a resident to get access.

There is a lake on Mississippi and Quebec ish in an apartment community called “The Breakers” that I believe you can pay the parking guy to go and fish for Largies and Carp. That’s been like 10 years ago now tho so I have no idea what the situation is now

My advice would be too look at ponds along the high line canal trail. There are some nice fish in some of them.

So... You're asking for private lakes for you to go trespass on at night? Did I read that right?

That's a brave thing to ask on the internet. In case you aren't joking, is it worth a trespassing charge? I know of an instance back in 2011 where a guy was fishing a closed area of Denver Water property and when he was reported the Department of Homeland Security responded due to his proximity to a dam. I guess they saw him as a potential terrorist threat. Anyway good luck.

The lake I’m thinking of is Windsor lake. It’s right off Mississippi between Quebec and Havana and you used to be able to pay to fish there.

I do not recommend sneaking in anywhere after dark. Risk vs reward is just not worth it.

A buddy used to sneak into McClellan reservoir to catch big eyes, and he paid through the nose for the walleyes. Not worth it.
