Here are the current conditions at 11 Mile per the Marina. I would say the conditions at Antero will be fairly similar to 11 Mile conditions.

CURRENT CONDITIONS: ICE ON. The ice has held up well. We are still seeing thickness running 14 to 18 inches. Recent snow will keep it firm for now. No issues for this weekend accept for fresh snow making trekking difficult. It looks like so far we got 12” to 20” with drifting depending on where you are.

The next week or two will be “early on early off”. The ice is plenty thick to be sure but the edges go first. Be selective where you get on and off. Some areas depending on location stay really nice and others are dark and dangerous. Caution always advised. There should be no issues with this weekend. Considering its the middle of March our best guess is this ice will not be gone by April 1.

Heard antero had lots of slush on it, much more than 11 mile anyways.

11mile had a solid 18-20inches a week ago BTW.

Elevenmile is going to have a lot of standing water on top of the ice. They really got a ton of snow. Its been a week and its still deep as of 3/21.

Well the SkunkMile got pounded again with deep snow. Divide has some super massive drifts and very deep ,in between.. I didn't scout the west end where she usually starts peeling back by now but the ice was still around 16+ inches with a new 5 inch layer of refrozen snow/slush on top. I was on my knees for the last few turns and winded!!! This is as of 3/28. I hate to say it but it appears the lunkers are in full spawn--where they don't seem to eat anything and are skittish as heck. Several guys in shelters confirmed my hunch as they saw the behavior. Those little stockers are thick on the north side.. I would imagine a large minnow imitation could get you a 40 inch Pike. Please take as many home as possible................Just my 2 cents.

Elevenmile State Park just posted on their Facebook page that Antero is still frozen over and they expect it'll be a few more weeks before the Spinney opener. They said there's a little bit of open water starting to show up at the west end of Elevenmile.
