Echo Lake ice?

Post By: not too old to fish      Posted: 11/16/2023 11:00:18 AM     Points: 8447
Anyone been to Echo Lake lately to see if it has frozen over yet ? It should be good fishing for awhile until it winter kills, that's if you can find an area without too many weeds. The lake has more water in it this year than it has had for several years.

Have they changed the rules about ice fishing there? I thought I remember there being signs saying no ice fishing.

The last word I got from Denver Mountain parks last year was Ice fishing is OK but don't leave your gas auger on the ice. They are concerned the gas might might leak onto the ice and get in the water. I will call them again to confirm for this year.

I found pictures from yesterday and it is iced over. White in color, no snow on top. I do not know how thick it may be. Let us know if you ice it!
