Teaching my son how to fight Carp on a fly rod.

My 9 year old son has caught some smaller fish on the fly rod, like trout and panfish, but I wanted to share my passion for Carp with him so I took him for a short session at the lake I skipper for. I had to entice the eat as he is new to fly fishing in general, but I wanted him to feel the tug of a stronger fish. McIntosh carp are perfect for this because although I do catch the occasional large carp, most of them are in that average 4 to 6 pound range. Perfect for a kid to fight. I made a video of anyone is interested. It also shows what McIntosh carpin often looks like. A muddy, mucky heck of a good time if you ask me! [log in for link]

Tightwork dad. Reminds me of sighting redfish in the salt. I'm sure he'll follow your passion.. Well done
