Kayak Fishing Pueblo Reservoir

Post By: Skookshunter      Posted: 5/24/2023 6:27:38 PM     Points: 1754
Couple weekends ago I ventured out onto Pueblo Reservoir competing in the Colorado Kayak Bassmasters tournament. I had heard going in that the bite was hot! I launched at the old DOW ramp and fished the west side of the reservoir. Unfortunately for me, it seemed like all the big fish were caught on the other side of the lake! I caught a bunch of fish primarily on a jerkbait but never found the bigguns. I recorded footage from the trip if you're interested in seeing how I finished on the day: [log in for link]
Fast forward a week and it seems like all the big bass have moved up shallow all over the lake! Nows a great time to get out there and catch em!

Good one. Kinda weird, but the east half of the lake has been better for the big females lately. Can't wait to get out there again.

The week after this tourney, there was another one held on Pueblo. During that tourney the big fish showed up on the west side of the lake. The winner fished out west and had over 86" for his top 5 bass including a 20.5" smallmouth!
