PB MA Largemouth

I caught my PB Largemouth this morning! I'm just super stoked! I've always heard that largemouth are in Frantz but have never caught one. I'm not aware of any recent largemouth stocking here. I'm guessing this is a pretty old girl. She had to have been 4 or 5 lbs. Almost 19.5in... I'm just so pumped, I had to share.

Congrats on your catch, looks like a female full of eggs so I hope you turned her loose to make some more giants.

I handled her well and she went back fine. I agree pre-spawn full of eggs. Her belly was super taught, no flab at all.

That's a big girl. Takes many years to grow one that big in that water.
I bet she's inhaled a few hatchery rainbows in her life.

I agree barnicles... They don't grow fast up here. And, yeah she could totally eat some of the 6in cutbows they throw in here...

I'd like to think she is a descendant of the original stocking that happened after Frantz was built. In the past week 2 of my buddies also landed largemouth of different age classes (11in and 13in, possibly just males). So it seems we a population of them. It's just crazy because, non of us have ever seen or landed a largemouth out of here. It's well known for smallmouth. I've heard from some people that largemouth were in there years ago, and I heard from others that largemouth are definitely NOT in there...

Thank y'all for your comments!
