Stopped by Aurora, ice is good fishing is slow

Post By: Big_D      Posted: 1/27/2023 10:34:48 AM     Points: 408
Hey guys, stopped by Aurora for a quick session and only caught one 18 inch trout. Ice was about 10 inches in the swim beach area. Had a lot of marks but only one was dumb enough to take my atomic teaser. Anyone got any tips on where they might be hiding? I'm trying to decide on going back or hitting Chatfield on Saturday.

Did you go back on Saturday? How'd it go?

Since you had a lot of marks it looks like you know where they are. That is a problem in late season ice fishing, getting them to bite. Age old question.

Good luck and when you figure it out a Nobel Prize will be coming your way.

That swim beach / marina area has been pounded, looks like swiss cheese.

I did go back on Saturday and I think the whole state of Colorado was on the ice. Got skunked. Marked plenty of fish but couldn't get them to take anything.

My son and I are going on Sunday early morning. Maybe try some pink and green jigs. We’ll see how it goes.
