Thanksgiving Treats

Post By: Barnacles      Posted: 11/21/2022 6:33:03 PM     Points: 2778
A few weeks behind on my winter routine - snow piled up on my boat. Finally hitched up and drug it 800 miles to storage in Texas. Ice on the ramp here. 51 square mile lake completely deserted. Had a couple of really nice days on the water.... a few pictures to share.

Sorry, I had to do the last one to demonstrate for Troutbisquit's recent stiff-arm tutorial.

If you're going after striper or cats get hold of Jason Phelps get'n spooled guide service. I've been out with him a few times and have never been disappointed and have caught fish every time we've gone out. Some days it was numbers of fish others it was big fish and some both numbers and big fish. here's his face book page so you can contact him. [log in for link]

A10FLYR, This was Cedar Creek Lake - right under the highway bridge a few hundred yards from the ramp. I guess I was due for some random luck.

I'm busting out of here at 3am to run to Amirillo to grab a boat and be back before midnight Wed nite . . . .nice Crappie catch,I love when the fish bite is within stones throw of the boat ramp . . . .I really enjoy it when we are on the fish 5-10 min after launching.

RockyMountainFlyGuy the drum was a good show on 4lb line. My friend was sure he had the state record crappie.
Punch, I'll watch for you on the highway. I'll be blowing through Amarillo about the same time tomorrow. Look forward to seeing our new boat.

Barnacles . . . .I made a monster. The minister of the church that runs the food bank I vollenteer at went to C.C. with me this summer when the eye bite really turned on (59 degrees) instead of driving to J.M. . . .well long story short . . .his inflatable just ain't going to cut it no more!Well he found a KILLER deal on a nice boat,so off we go . . . .are you ready for this . . . .the same boat is selling for about $3000 more here than in Amarillo. He's got the money and we can run down and back before midnight Wed.Everyone have a great turkey day . . .I'll post when I'm back safely.
