Any of you crazies seeing any ice at higher elevations? If so what elevation? I am trying to decide if itís time to dust off the snowshoes and the ice gear, or stay down low.

Yea, I have already seen a few videos. Hell with the weather report for the coming week we may have some front range ice sooner than later...

Yeah I think I may have to get a few casts in after work tonight for the last nice night for a while. any ice thicknesses on those videos? I hate hiking with the spud bar.

O man I am ready for some ice. This cold front is just a tease. Wonít be long thatís for sure.

I bet thereís some ice forming above 10k. I agree with hiking with the stub bar. Itís definitely a must at first and late ice. It does make it hard to pack light though.

I checked ice yesterday at 10,300. It was 6" thick. We are going to ice the lake above it at 10,600. I anticipate it will be 8" thick. Can't wait. Tis the season.

Ok good info. Was that in or near the James peak wilderness area?

@Trailerman - Indian Peaks Wilderness is where I checked but I imagine any lake about 10k is fishable now with at least 4" of ice. Not sure where you're headed but good luck!

Trailerman, 🤷 Brainerd is nothing special, some one already blasted out Mitchell on this forum anyway. But I finally got my comment/posting privileges back so I have to be chill.
