I have this Daiwa Steez lure and the 2nd time using it the bill broke. I reached out to Daiwa and they offered no help, they told me to get with the folks I bought it from. Knew that wouldn't work because it was purchased over a year ago, so I was stuck with a very expensive broke lure.

Well yesterday I showed it to The Boss and she said she could fix it AND SHE DID!! lol

I think she did a pretty great job. All she did weas use a nail file

Never thought of a nail file. Got a few of those in my box that I busted on the rocks. We'll see if I can put my boss to work.

Looks like it would work, give it a try and see if actually performs like it should. The manufacturer would not help you with this issue as they are in the business of selling lures, no profit in repairing them.

Troutbisquits - thank you, I think she's pretty cool too. She has an amazing amount of creativity that I lack and often provides cool solutions. This one was so simple I thought it might be good to share with FxR. Gonna use this lure Friday, will report back about the action and if it's affected

Barnacles - give it a try.. nothing to lose

Not Too Old - I didn't expect them to fix it.. since it was only my 2nd use and it literally wasn't bounced off rocks or anything, was hoping they would replace it. Even with my inside connection to Daiwa, they didn't help. I'm spoiled by lure companies such as Mann's... couple of my Mann's lures had a paint defect..they had me mail them in and in return gave me 2 of each.

That's great customer service. I'll remember that next time I'm looking for crankbaits and whatnot. I like to support companies like that.
