Drift Fishing the North Platte

Although this specific river is not Colorado it is not very far out of reach. I figured a few people may benefit from this post. Had a fun time getting the drift raft out and throwing some flys. Beautiful weather, longtime friends, and some great fish along the way. From van camping on the river, cooking on a fire, and letting the river take you along we had a blast. Hereís the first day of our trip. Or part one of the strike mission [log in for link]

Nice video, a little more water in the river would probably help the action but overall a pretty good day. Thanks for sharing.

Nice and very intriguing, how is the public access fro wade fishing and camping in the area. Iíve always wanted to check it out but it is a. Long way for me so a bit of info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. WG

Thank you! Yes water was low and flow was slow. 500cfs. Tons of weeds!!! But day two we did a lower drift and day 3 we had our best through Casper. Part 2 and 3 coming soon! Wade fishing and river camping is do-able. The only issues we consistently found was the weeds being stuck on everything!
