North Shore Marina

Post By: kirbydog      Posted: 9/29/2022 11:02:34 AM     Points: 97
The north shore marina at Pueblo has been "permanently" closed due to faulty wiring that could lead to electrocution. Turns out many of the outlets
in proximity to water did not have GFI outlets.

The marina leased the marina facility from CPW and I doubt the will be able to renew their lease-probably looking at someone new to run the marina after
things have been repaired . If you look at the reviews given over the years there were many, many negative reports/reviews.

Saw that on the news last night. Hope they get that straightened out quickly. I like my shade breaks and snacks in there. Can't take shortcuts with dock electricity though. Dangerous stuff. I assume the ramp is still open?

I believe this does not include the boat ramp is still open but will try to find out.

Just called the ranger at Pueblo and he said the boat ramp is open.

The boat ramp is operated by CPW and nothing will be affected to the ramp or hours of the ramp (except maybe traffic in the next few weeks)

Currently the Person who leases the Marina ( been around 20 years ) will not be granted to renew the lease. Her lease expires in December 2022. So she will NOT be updating the current electrical issues that did not pass inspection.

The power that supply's the entire marina was shut off as of yesterday 9/28/22. All power to electric boats slips is off, power to the marina store, bathrooms and fueling stations is off.

Non electrical boat slips shouldn't have any issues. ( no bilge pumps, refrigerators, freezers etc...

The repairs will need to be updated and pass inspection before the power will be restored, this may be months before any work starts.

Thanks for the info guys. Guess it's a good thing I couldn't afford a boat slip when I asked a few years ago. Rotten deal for those parked in there. South side is probably raising their gas prices about now 😉

Per CPW:

All boats/vessels must be out of the water by Dec 31st 2022 and plan for permanently.

No current applicants for the lease.

Alot of talk is , they want all boat/vessels off because the marina needs so many "upgrades" anchoring system, planking etc... and here is the chance to "start over" not allowing the bigger house boats to slip even though the marina was not set-up for those bigger boats.

Of course these are conversations that I've heard, this point just speculation.
