Fish: Common Carp

Unsnagged by a fish

So the other day I was fly fishing my local river for Carp and I snagged my tippet under a rock. I was about to try and roll cast it off, then I saw a large Carp meandering it's way over. I decided to wait and hold tension on my line, sure enough the brute came over and sucked my fly up, unsnagging the tippet and making for and instant hookset due to the tension I was holdin!. I thought that was pretty sweet! Has anyone else had a similar experience of being unsnagged by a fish?

Had that happen a few times with bass - Trying to shoot a lure under some tree limbs hanging over the water. The lure ends up hanging down from a limb & dangling in the water & BOOM. Doesn't always work out like yours did.

thats awesome. In one of the Fishful Thinker episodes his lure got hung in the rocks... and an 8 lb trout came and grabbed it and of course he caught it!

Very few fly fishing techniques yield such an instant hookset! That sounds awesome.

Thatís a fish story to tell for sure. Specially fly fishing.

I was wiper fishing one time and snagged into a rock on the bottom. After a little bit of trying to pull free. It started to feel a little different. As I was pull on the line a wiper had grabbed my worm and freed my sinker.
