Record Smashing Brookie

Hey all...for all who appreciate brookies and BIG brookies, I saw this artcle on FB today. I have a lifetime pursuit of catching a 3# or better brookie in Colorado, still unfulfilled. Nice to know there are a few out there. Congrats to the fella!

Yep. Thought that 1947 record was pretty safe. Incredible fish.

It's fascinating that this came from another great brookie area, the Indian Peaks wilderness, which is just east of Monarch. I think they have been a huge success in the high mountain lakes.

Thanks for sharing. I have mixed feelings. Happy for the guy, he beat me to it, but he deserves the record for his knowledge and perseverance. I chased that record all through the 90’s and came close. That being said, it only broke the record by a few ounces, so if I get my goal 8# brook, it would still break the record. Congratulations to the angler for catching a beauty.

Congratulations Tim,

If I was you I would go to Monarch tomorrow morning to sign autographs for the thousand anglers who show up to catch your Brooke’s brothers & sisters.

Sell it to Monarch Casino so they could mount it in the casino for a 1/2 million, and the Panther martin spinner you caught it to for another 1/2 million so your gran kids s can go to college.

Call it a great life and sign a DNR, you’ve got nothin else to live for.
