Spent the early part of the weekend near Steamboat Springs fishing the Yampa river.
While fishing for the big Browns in the spots we usually catch them all we were getting were Rainbows and Pike. My buddy did end up landing a decent brown and I did play a few of them but unfortunately I did not land any.
I did play one that may have been state record size. His tail was twice the size of my biggest brown.
Anyway, back to the Pike. I caught my personal best 30 inch Pike from the shore of the Yampa. We love this spot. Such a beautiful fish.
All in all a great weekend with a PB.
