Creek boat ramps

Post By: thebob      Posted: 5/17/2022 8:41:35 AM     Points: 1
Am just wondering what the reasoning is 2 only have the west ramp open during the week ??? On the Creek website they say it's a manning issue ???
They only have 1 person doing the boat inspections !!! It seems 2 me that person could just as easily be on the east side, where there's 3 ramps, instead of only 1, and there can be at least 4 rigs on the ramp at the same time. Yesterday at the west ramp, about 2:30 there was at least 6 boats trying 2 get off the lake, and another 4-5 trying 2 get on the water. With only 1 dock, it made for a very confusing situation. Especially when many boats only had 1 person, and they would have 2 tie up 2 the dock, and then take their truck
2 the parking lot, or go get their truck . It seems 2 me, and anyone else i ask, that it would make more sense 2 have the east ramp open ???

The East ramp will be open on May 21st.
There’s more of the dock on the ramp than in the water on the west ramp. But it is cherry creek. 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦

When I asked what was going on I was told the CPW could not find enough help to open both the east and west ramps.

I also heard that the boat inspectors are volunteer positions this year, so they are not getting paid.

Not sure if that's true or not, but it would help explain the situation and the fact that many of the "inspectors" I've met this season are barely out of high school, and don't hardly seem to perform any actual inspection. Bizarre. 🤷‍♂️

We pay an additional $25 when we register our watercraft even the Individual pontoon. I don't have to have it inspected but I have to Pay. Inspectors should be getting paid If not where is my money going?

Inspectors are not volunteer, they are paid. Yes is would be better to open the east ramp, but it appears the west is open to accommodate, the marina. The highest use park in the state, and they don't even have working clean bathrooms, only porta potties ,mostly with out paper, so if you are going to go, out there take your own roll or you may have a problem. !
