Well I made a video showing a super easy way to target crappie on the fly rod in spring. Hope you enjoy. [log in for link]

Hard to beat those days when you can stand in one spot and light em up like that. For the next month or so, it's almost better to leave the boat at home. Extra points for the fly rod. Well done.

That reminds me of some of my favorite lakes. I guess it's a good thing we're all different, but I can't understand people that can walk zombie circles around the lake while you're doing that.

It really is hard to beat fishing for pond crappie in spring. I love it when they move shallow this time of year. Also Barnacles that's too funny. I feel the same way. I have a hard time walking around any body of water without wanting to throw a line in.

Thanks for the video.
Spring crappie on flies is great fun.

Nicely done Troutbisquits! It's good to see another Colorado admirer of the Bully Spider. It's one of the only flies yours truly can manage to tie with any consistency, and the bluegill like them almost as much as I do.

Fishthumpre yeah the Bully Spider is great! I love flies that are simple to tie and effective. I think I really fell in love with the bully spider when I caught a 3 lb largemouth on it! That was a lot of fun on my 4 wt.

Yup. That's why my favorite fly to tie is the San Juan worm. LMAO

Just curious as to what weight fly rod you used?

JIGORNAUT I used my 8 ft 4 wt here, but I also use a 5 and 6 wt depending on what else I am fishing for in the same area.

Thanks Tyler!
