Fishing new spots along the river

Post By: Team CO.F.F.      Posted: 3/3/2022 7:50:19 PM     Points: 315
My uncle from Minnesota came out to visit for a few weeks...He's one of the biggest reasons why I love fishing so much so it's always good to get some lines out and exchange fishing stories and tips.

We got out and hit some new spots along the river that I've never fished before and had some pretty good success. Caught Browns mostly, and a lone rainbow and lone cutbow.

We walked about a half mile stretch and found various pockets, side currents, and a few pools with bites coming in most places. Lost a lot this day lol. Slow cranking and jerk fishing with 3-4 second pauses seemed to register most of the bites. I was of course using the ole faithful dynamic lures HD Trout and J-Spec, my uncle caught his fish using a slow sinking Rapala that was chartreuse with a red face.

Spring will be here soon, can't wait for the bite to heat up and the water to start flowing more!!

Thats cool to go with your uncle like that. I am a lot older than you. My grandpa took me several times when I was barely old enough to remember. I remembered just enough to hook me forever. The stream(s) coming down from James Peak had a lot of brookies. He caught one and secretly put it on my hook when I was farting around. We went a few times as a teen--which was great. He passed over 20 years ago but he planted the seed!! Keep on doing your thing. I love it.

Sorry to hear about Cheyenne & Jet, nothing worse than loosing a dog. Glad she's OK and wishing a speedy recovery.

Feeling your pain - 40 years ago I lost my girl friend and dog to a car wreck. Super glad to hear that Cheyenne is recovering. Good video as always. Looking forward to new stuff from DL.

I wish I could still fish with one of my Grandpas, I have good memories of fishing the Boundary Waters up in Minnesota with them and my uncles. That's really cool he put a fish on there for you like that haha! As long as my arms can still cast, i'll be fishing 🎣🎣

-not too old to fish

Thanks for all the kind words and support, it means a lot to me and Cheyenne. Life is crazy! She's recovering well and is as positive as anyone could be in her situation. Hopefully we can get another dog that is as awesome as her dog Jett was. Again...Thank you for the love guys!
