On Monday the 14th the lake was about 25% open water all on the south side. Water is clear and at normal level. Fished a couple of hours with bait on the bottom but had no bites. Nice day to fish some open water.
I too have done some open water fishing out of my kayak-with mixed results. We've got a nice weekend but if you look at the farecast beginning next Monday we're gonna get some very cold weather for several days.
Happy to see an open water report. I did 3 days on the ice this year to try to prove I'm still a man. I'm so ready be feeling the waves in my boat. I'm launching somewhere next week if I have to use a jackhammer.
