Lake: Manitou Lake

Manitou Lake ice condition

Post By: JKaboom      Posted: 1/31/2022 10:03:06 AM     Points: 703
Does any one know what the ice conditions are at Manitou Lake. I only have the basic membership and do not generate enough points to be a contributing member (I just don't fish as much as I used to).

@Matt Snyder - Maybe you could consider making Manitou Lake accessible to all because it is simply a put and take lake. By the same token maybe also consider Georgetown Lake also accessible by all.

Maybe you should consider upgrading to Fxr+? You will get all the info you’re after plus so much more. Looks like you have enough points to even get some money’s off the sub. Really once you break it down the one time year cost isn’t that bad. The points really help with that cost too.

If you don’t want to contribute to the site that way, it looks like you have enough points to be a contributing member. That should give you access to a little more of the lake pages. I don’t believe it’s all of them but it’s better then none.

My 2 cents

Thank you for the suggestion. I was a FXR+ member for about 3 years and enjoyed it very much. I just haven't fished a lot the last 2-3 years so I did not renew it.

I'll try to use points to upgrade to the contributing member as you suggested.

Maybe someone has fished Manitou recently and knows the ice condition. We have Monument Lake near COS also but it's low elevation and I just don't fish ice less than 6-8". I fished 11 mile yesterday and it was great but sometimes I like a little put and take late to just do some C&R for the action...

I don’t know the thickness but folks are there just about every day

Upgraded to Contributing member using 2000 points for a year and got the info I needed, thanks again :)

"We have Monument Lake near COS also but it's low elevation and I just don't fish ice less than 6-8". "

I'd think by now Monument is at least 6" of decent ice. After this week, it will be more, I'm sure. As a matter of fact, Monument is about 7000 ft., IIRC.

I was at Manitou Lake on 30 Dec. There have been 2 reports since then. I measured 6 - 8 inches. The more recent posts are saying 5 - 7 inches.
