First of all, I want to give a shoutout to Yakoda Supply Co. If you're a fly fisherman, and you haven't checked them out, you need to. Their gear is great for saving space while on the river. I love their new sidekick and their slim fly tins! Plus their flies are awesome, too. I hooked all but 2 of my fish on their CDC pheasant tail last week.
Which brings me to this- that's what I caught all my fish on, a pheasant tail pattern. I tried this, that, and the other that were recommended but no hookups on anything that wasn't a pheasant tail pattern. Only reason I didn't keep fishing the same fly was because I lost it... gotta love the overhanging trees. My father-in-law (who isn't a fisherman) said "well, they all wanted the same thing, imagine that"... sarcastically of course. I thought that was odd but I guess that's fishing, right?
Lastly, it was cool to see all the different color ranges on the bows I caught... some more pink, some more red, and one that was at least 10 inches long but still had really well defined par marks on just one side. Didn't notice the par marks til I was releasing him, otherwise I'd try to attach a pic.
Apologies for the slight blurriness of the pics here....
