Hiked up the road from the last campsite in the summer with spinning gear. Road is steep and winding the whole way up. I can only imagine trying to take my ice gear up it.

Adisaga, it's 1.7 miles to the dam cut.1.8 miles to the boat ramp from the inner gate. If the first gate is closed it's another 3 miles on top of that. COFM, yes, you have to pay $7 unless you're disabled, then you pay half. Snowmobiles are allowed but atv's are not. Accuweather is predicting 6-10 inches of snow at Jeff Thurs-Friday. I've done that hike once, it's rough. If you do go, please do a report. If that much snow happens, we'll snowmobile up there to start packing down the trail. Tight lines

@Adisaga, I'd steer clear with someone not acclimated to our altitude. Altitude sickness is serious enough and add in snow and cold and you've got a real recipe for disaster.
