Close Bluegill Pond?

Post By: kwo      Posted: 10/30/2021 8:55:01 AM     Points: 57
Starting to get my daughter into fishing. And was hoping to find a panfish pond near home- 470 and broadway. Don't want to spend more time driving than fishing (short attn span)

Can anyone share a pond or place on a lake we can fish from shore? Not looking for big ones, just catchable ones.

The ponds at south platte park have a decent population. I usually hit the smaller ponds. Also the gravel pond at chatfield is a good option since the SUPers have probably packed it in for the year. Haven’t been to chatty in a few weeks so I couldn’t swear by that. Those SUPers get hardier every year. Worms on a small crappie jig under a bobber should get it done.

Most neighborhood ponds should hold some kind of panfish in them. A lot of them have parks next to them for when they get bored. Pull up the fishing map^^^^ and go do some exploring. Might find you a honey hole right around the corner. Good luck.

Check out Flyin Bee Park in Highlands Ranch. Here is the link [log in for link] It has Bluegill and sometimes trout.
