I wanted to use my new level wind and lead core line so i hit the deeper water at Horsetooth with a slow death crawler set up. I was hoping to pull in an eye or two. Problem was that I could never get the line out far enough to get down deep before I hooked up a stocker trout. They seemed to be suspended about 16 feet down all over the lake because I consistently got bit with two colors out. I was down at eleven mile fishing tor trout a couple weeks ago and got skunked. Go figure!
