Taking the ole hippie stick up to the buttes. How are they fishing? Any tips or productive patterns that are working right now would be greatly appreciated .

Hippie stick is your reference to a fly rod? Probably closer to a yuppie stick. The aforementioned stick will make you forget how to tie knots. Lol. Duh buttes, Id probably start with leeches and balanced minnows. Dropping chironomids, scuds, but all the while Id be looking for a top water bite. Watch for a brown midge in the afternoon. They are fairly large bugs. I had an awesome evening fishing them in shallow water 3-5. It looked like the bop a gopher game there was so many heads. The hatch occurred in October with nearly a full moon*. I fished them until I couldnt see anymore. I switched to streamers after dark. I fished until midnight. Great memories of that day.
