Fish: Arctic Grayling

Camping/Fishing Mid September

Went camping last weekend above 10K and it was a bit chilly but fun! Morning temps got into the high 30's but the high's were around the low 60's😀 Crazy to say that this is my first camping trip of 2021...Camping is just something i've always done since being little so it was weird to wait this long to camp.

Went up with the GF and the dog and had a lot of fun fishing for Arctic Grayling, Colorado River Cutthroat Trout, and BIG Brook trout...We did two days of fishing at two different bodies of water, so we made it into 2 parts! Cheyenne had never caught a grayling or CRC until this trip😀

The grayling and cutthroat were biting little swimbaits, and I even got one using an ice jig and small roadside minnow soft plastic haha. We kept 3 grayling and cooked them up over the fire on a cast iron pan...DELICIOUS

It felt good to escape civilization and relax in the mountains, in cool weather for most of the weekend! Got some nice drone shots of the area, some fun underwater footage, and just had an overall great time up there!

Prime time to be in the mountains, clear crisp days and nights and fish starting to feed-up for the coming winter. I was wondering if you were going to make that one cutthroat into a pet, it did not seem to want to leave. Nice video as usual

One of your best ever. It's a great time to be alive and be outside. I only come in to login and see what you guys caught today. Campfire grayling must be epic.

It really is, I believe color day is this weekend on the Mesa. Always a good time period to be fishing up there!! I've had fish hang around for a bit on releases but never had one so curious about the flippers and belly boat, it must've had a mental disability or something haha.

I appreciate that Barnacles, with moving to one upload a week, I have time to edit the videos a lot more and also not feel rushed on fishing trips (which would happen sometimes). It was my first time having grayling over the campfire and it made the home cooked stuff taste bad lol!

They weren't the TOADS that you've been pulling out of the river with your buddies, but it was a good time for sure🎣😀 Grayling fins are so beautiful, love that species!!

Love to taste a grayling like that. Everything tastes better cooked outdoors. Way to go-once again!!!

Thanks Greg! Honestly, everything really does haha. I'm just happy to have gotten to camp before it got too cold.
