Kokanee Running at Wolford?

Post By: Gunnar      Posted: 9/16/2021 5:53:04 PM     Points: 1190
Does anyone know when the Kokanee run in Wolford? I am assuming that they would run up into some of the inlets. Curious if I could fish for some kokanee on early ice. Any tips from someone who has fished it before would be great. Thank you!

I have caught them thru the ice but only ones that are spawned out and done.

Usually it begins going really strong in the spawn around the 1st of October. The most common areas people hit are off the dam face, the cove by the dam where the parking lot is and in the park south of the boat dock. When they start get there right before the sun comes up as they sometimes turn off when that sun hits the sky. I usually do good on a small pink tube jig under a slip bobber tipped with a wax worm. Hope that helps.
