I made my annual family camping trip to Eleven Mile this past weekend. The fishing was great on 7/18 (Saturday) even though I started mid-morning (around 10am). I was able to catch my limit by 2pm. The bows seemed to be circling every 2-3 hours.
All bows were between 13" to 15". The park ranger came by at 2pm while I was packing up and he mentioned that the fishing was slow so was surprised that I had my limit. I was surprised that the fishing was slow given that we had hooked into a total of fish (losing 2 at the shore).
The kids actually had a couple more bites but we lost them near the shore when the line got caught in the rocks. It was also not too crowded, even with the paddle boaters launching all us.
Overall, great day of fishing and an excellent dinner!
p.s. just a pet peeve of mine, but I wish the paddle boaters would have designated launch areas instead of just launching wherever they please, or at least be respectful of shore fishers. To those that are respectful, thank you, but to the others, try to give some space!
