See CPW site or Vail Daily for more details. Stumbled across this in local news and was surprised it wasn't posted here yet. Let 'em be!

Yup! Water temps have been too high for literally weeks on the CO on that stretch...this is why i brought this exact topic up on a post a week or two ago and got flack for it....people were thinking i was being a karen n tried to tell me i was wrong lol. Looks like the state has finally come out n said something...so maybe more people will believe this problem exists now?

Just because others go out and fish doesnt mean you should, I personally havent been fishing rivers for over a month now because I check temp gauges and know that...well....its been BAD to be a trout in most our river systems this summer

We need to protect the resource....stop fishing lower elevation freestone rivers people...please.....you only seem inconsiderate, and uninformed if you do

Hoping they close the eagle river soon too....its way too hot at gypsum, and saw people fishing it last weekend. Even getting too toasty at wolcott....more fish kills to come im sure...brutal summer

Looks like the seasons for River fishing in Colorado is getting shorter. Winter, followed by short period before the melt, followed by high muddy water for about a month, followed a couple of weeks before it get to hot and then when it cools down the rivers in many cases are to low. I was at a creek south of Gunny this week and between the low/hot water and the cattle excrement inducing weed growth it was like fishing in a sewer.

What’s a guy to do?

A guy is to head into the high country, go to a tailwater, or fish for warm water species unfortunately...Im glad I get most my CO river time in in March/April. They fish the best then anyways

They need to freaking close the eagle...its hitting over 70 degrees and tons of people still fishing it. Even guides are still fishing it...which is one reason some people use to keep fishing! We need to be responsible people!

Its truly sad how uninformed/selfish so many anglers are....where are the people who defended fishing the CO in these temps??

They will be fine, just don't fight them to death.
